Botox ® injections block muscle action selectively to eliminate or minimize unwanted “dynamic wrinkles”. These wrinkles include the “11 lines” between the eyebrows, crows’ feet wrinkles, and forehead wrinkles. Cosmetic Botox ® enhances results of other cosmetic treatments such as laser resurfacing. Small doses may be used in the peri-oral region to minimize wrinkles. Treatments may last for up to 4 to 6 months.
Active muscles of facial expression along with age, sun exposure and smoking produce wrinkles making us look older than we want to look. Treatment with Botox ® provides a rejuvenated appearance, and a more relaxed countenance. Treatments take very little time and are associated with minimal discomfort of the injection.

What to expect after Cosmetic Botox ® injection:
After injection, a little swelling or bruising can occur. Usually, there is very little evidence that you have had an injection. You may carry on with your usual activities. The medication takes effect during the next week or two and you will find that the muscle action in the area has diminished. It is rare to experience dry eyes, or droopy eyelids unless you have those symptoms prior to injection. Be sure to call if there are any undesirable symptoms after your treatment, such as diplopia or inability to open, and close the eyes.
Generalized weakness or difficulty breathing are extremely rare with small doses in the periocular area, but seek medical attention immediately if you experience any of these symptoms. The desirable effects of Botox ® on dynamic wrinkles may last for 3-4 months up to 6 months. Individuals have different thresholds for repeat injections, but you may come in at any time during office hours to have your treatment.
