Lasering USA – Medical Laser
The Slim Evolution MiXto Pro ® offers new hand-piece technology for skin rejuvenation. CO2 Lasers have been used for many years for aesthetic treatment of sun damage, wrinkles, scars, and large pores. The thermal effect of the laser penetration induces collagen production and resurfacing with fresh new skin. Wrinkles tighten, pores shrink, sun spots fade, scars flatten with MiXto Pro treatment. Technology is used for the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.
Advanced technology –
Technology in skin resurfacing has made exciting advances in the past decade. Many companies have advanced laser equipment to provide rejuvenation of the skin. One aspect of the laser technology for resurfacing has not changed, and that is, CO2 laser wavelength is the “gold standard” for skin penetration. The MiXto® patented handpiece delivers the laser in a precise Z-pattern with complete control of the density, wattage, and duration. Two penetration levels allow deeper treatment for specific areas – deep wrinkles, pores and scars, and a more superficial penetration for generalized rejuvenation and improvement in texture. Immediate results are evident as healing takes place, and long-term results of collagen production remain active over the next 6 to 12 months.
How it works –
The fractional destruction of external layers of the skin is combined with complete treatment of subcutaneous layers. This residual thermal effect is the key to collagen production. The procedure is “dry”, not weeping and oozing after the old lasers in the 1990’s. Translated to clinical effects – the skin quality is markedly improved with diminished fine wrinkles, plumping up of the skin, improved skin texture and pigment. The “social down time” is approximately 7 days, but the erythema (redness) of the skin persists for weeks. Makeup can cover and allow return to usual activities within 7-10 days after maximal treatment. The MiXto® laser settings can be reduced to provide a skin peel with shorter recovery time, but results area amazing with optimal settings for your skin type.

What to expect:
During treatment –
An oral sedative allows you to relax for a period of 2.5 to 3 hours for facial treatment. This includes time for effective topical anesthesia, time for local nerve blocks (after topical numbing), time for treatment, and time for chilling of the skin after the procedure. Your friend or family member providing transportation is welcome to stay with us or attend to other tasks or errands.
During the treatment you feel the zing of the laser particularly around the hairline, however, more topical or local eliminates discomfort. Also laser settings adjusted downward allow better comfort, but requiring more passes of the laser handpiece for the same effect. Two spot sizes penetrate the skin to varying depths – one for deep wrinkles, and the other for more superficial generalized treatment so that treatment can be customized. You will notice some immediate contraction of the skin as the collagen fibers tighten loose skin.
After treatment –
A chiller cools the “sunburn” sensation after the treatment is complete so that by the time you leave the office, you are usually quite comfortable. Cool compresses are encouraged for the first 2 days. Aquaphor or Vaseline application keeps the skin moist at all times. Over the next 2-3 days, the skin appears tan, coagulates and begins to peel. At day 5-7, the skin has usually peeled completely, and then you may apply moisturizers and makeup. You may perform home activities by day 3, but be sure to stay out of the sun. By day 7-10 the redness begins to fade gradually and by 2 months the last bit of pink has resolved. During this time frame you may appear to have a slight sunburn or “flushed” appearance, but you may wear makeup to tone down the redness.
Healing process –
Results of laser treatment provide some immediate effects with regard to texture and tightening, but over the next 12 months you will notice continued tightening of the skin secondary to collagen formation beneath the skin. Pores will shrink and major wrinkles are less prominent. Pigment and pore size diminish, and scars and textural irregularities improve. The skin becomes “plump and firm”. Unwanted pigment, actinic keratosis (pre-cancerous lesions), age spots and sun spots disappear.
Your newly refreshed skin will make you look years younger. Maintain your new skin by taking sun precautions with sun screen and a hat with a wide brim.
