Micropigmentation
Micropigmentation (also called permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing) for lash line and lips, and microblading for brows, restores the definition we lose with the aging process and may eliminate your “prep time” for makeup in those areas.
After numbing with a topical anesthetic, Dr. Kaltreider uses a hand applicator rather than an automated device to place the pigment in the skin. This technique produces a natural appearance of brows, eyeliner, and lips, not the harsh appearance you might see with some techniques. Color selection matches your skin tone and hair color, and you and the doctor agree on your new look in advance. The color products used for micropigmentation are cosmetic pigments – not the same as the inks used in non-clinical tattoo establishments.
Before & After Micropigmentation
What to expect.
Anti-inflammatories help with any minor discomfort that may occur. At first, the color appears darker than the shade selected. Over several weeks, it will lighten.
Microblading
Microblading is a technique for restoring eyebrows that involves precise placement of pigment, “hair by hair,” in a color or color combination matching your hair color and complimenting your skin tone. It takes place in one session with an options session for any revisions.
What to expect.
Anesthetics minimize discomfort during the procedure; a prescription sedative is also available. Anti-inflammatories help speed recovery. Lashline: Applying Vaseline to keep the eyelid margins moist. Lips: The pigment appears very dark and intense for the first few hours, and diminishes to the desired color over four to six weeks. Eyebrows: Vaseline protects the brows as they heal. Pigment lightens to the desired color over a few weeks, leaving a natural appearance.
